Professional Licenses

The Department of Health, Council of Licensed Midwifery and the Division of Health Quality Assurance in the State of Florida regulate Licensed Midwives. The protocols for Licensed Midwives in Florida are contained within the Licensed Midwifery Rules, 64B24 of the Florida Administrative Code.

Eligibility to take the examination of the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) is determined by the Florida Department of Health in conjunction with the International Institute of Health Care Professionals (IIHCP). When students have completed the IIHCP program, their names will be submitted to the Florida Department of Health and then they will receive information from NARM about registering for the exam.
